10 Days Laos Treasure

(Optional) An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms giving ritual to saffron clad monks. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession. Stop and visit fresh local markets and back to hotel for breakfast.
­This morning, visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa. The rounded dome is stylistically more Sinhalese than Lao.  Continue to visit Wat Aham, continue to the most photographed temple, Vat Xiengthong. Located at the end of peninsular closed to the confluence of Mekong and Khan River. Next to former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. Then visit Wat Mai a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum is brought and put on public display in this temple.
The tour concludes with an ascent of Phousi Hill, which stands 150m tall in the heart of the town. From this vantage point, visitors are treated to breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, its numerous temples, and the picturesque landscape stretching out to the distant mountains. Following this, you will be transported back to the city center or directly to your hotel to finalize the tour.

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed town of Luang Prabang, renowned for its rich history and well-preserved temples

In the morning (pick up 8-8:30am), embark on a scenic tour to Kuang Si Waterfall, traversing verdant rice paddies and idyllic farms. Upon arrival, we will have 2 hours to explore the three-tiered waterfall, take a leisurely walk along the trails to explore the mesmerizing beauty of the falls. Marvel at the spectacular cascades, which gracefully descend over several hundred feet into a series of tranquil, turquoise pools. Take in the enchanting sight of orchids flourishing within the park, adding to the allure of the natural surroundings. And visit the bear rescued center.  
After this captivating experience, return to Luang Prabang, stopping at Ban Na Uan, a Hmong village, for a glimpse into the authentic Hmong village life. Interact with the locals, and witness the intricate process of crafting traditional embroidery.
­Following a delightful lunch, proceed to the pier and board a traditional long-tail boat for a serene cruise upstream along the mighty Mekong River. As you drift along the water, soak in the breathtaking mountain vistas and observe the simple yet captivating rural lifestyles along the riverbanks. Your journey will lead you to the Pak Ou Caves, situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. Within these two caves, discover a splendid display of sacred centuries-old Buddha images, revered as pilgrimage sites during the Lao New Year festivities around mid-April.
Upon cruising back to Luang Prabang, make a stop to visit Ban Xanghai, a traditional whisky village, where you can observe the intricate process of crafting Lao Lao, the beloved rice whiskey of Laos. Immerse yourself in the local culture as you sample some freshly made regional delicacies, rounding off an enriching and flavorful experience.

Have breakfast at hotel and free at leisure and then transfer to the train for a speed train to Vang Vieng. It takes around 1 hour. Arrive in Vang Vieng, a small and tranquil town, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. Its stunning scenery with a mixture of quiet water and limestone outcrops remains unspoiled. We will embark on a boat for a well-paced trip along the Nam Song River, exploring the breathtaking mountain landscape.
Free at leisure in the afternoon (Or you can choose Optional – Discover Tham Chang Cave – one of the most important sites in Vang Vieng. Located on the Southern side of Vang Vieng, Tham Chang Cave used to be home for migrating people due to its ideal climate. From here, visitors can see the amazing view of the villages and Vang Vieng town.)

After breakfast at hotel. You will be transferred to Vieng Sa Mai (Khmu village) where starting interesting Kayaking along NamSong – enjoy the green scenery mountain karts on the
side of River downstream to many funny rapids to Tham Norn cave (Sleeping cave). Continue visiting Tham Ngangfar (Angel cave) and Tube inside Tham Norn cave (Sleeping cave) learn the history of this cave when Laos was the second Indochina war.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue kayaking to Vang Vieng town.
On the way we visit the famous blue lagoon –  swim or simply relax.

After breakfast, we drive out of town to the fabulous capital, Vientiane by express-way ~2-2.5h. Vientiane is the charming and fascinating capital of Laos. This small town conjures up exotic images, with the curious mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French influences.
In the afternoon, visiting the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Enroute to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

After breakfast, we catch an flight to Pakse. On arrival, we drive on the National Road No. 13th south to Champassak and to visit the fascinating pre-angkorian ruins of Wat Phou, one of Southeast Asia’s most dramatically situated temples. We have time to explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Wat Phu is one of the Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 10th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. We continue our journey by road to Don Khong, the largest island in the South Mekong river region known as the 4000 islands, one of the most scenic areas in Laos.

Breakfast at hotel. We depart to Ban Nakasang village and cruise to Don Khone Island and discover the beauty of 4000 islands region down to this island. Arrival at Don Khone island, which features the remnants of the French colonial area including an old pier, a railway station, a former French hospital building and the maritime office. Continue with a visit to the Liphi waterfalls, nicknamed the “Corridor of the Devil“. Local daredevils put fish traps at the bottom of the falls to catch fresh fish each day. Next, transfer to discover the authentic Don Det Island.
In the afternoon, cruise to Ban Nakasang village and travel by van visit the Khone Phapheng waterfall. The falls are the main reason why the Mekong River is not navigable into China. The majestic sight of the falls is a highlight of southern Laos, covering an impressive 10km stretch of the Mekong.
Driving back to Done Khong and time at leisure.

Depart to Bolavens Plateau, a mountainous region home to dozens of hill tribes, waterfalls and coffee and tea plantations. Exploring Tad Yuang and Tad Fane waterfalls. Tad Fane is a set of twin 120-meter high waterfalls formed by the merging waters of the Champy and Pak Koot rivers. These impressive falls are situated on the edge of Dong Hua Sao protected area, 38 km from Pakse. Then, transfer to Pakse. Arrival and check in hotel in Pakse.
